In March 2025, this group considered different options for what to read and discuss next! With the goal of reading scripture, and seeking guidance and inspiration for living in tumultuous and polarized times, we settled on the idea of reading a collection of Paul’s New Testament epistles (letters) in conjunction with an assortment of readings from Rachel Held Evans, a public theologian and author who was sometimes called “the voice of wandering evangelicals.” Paul was writing to early Christian communities with the goal of keeping them together despite their internal conflicts and uncertainties. What can we learn from these letters today?
