To begin the Christian season of Lent, Newman Congregational Church, United Church of Christ will again be offering the Ecumenical - Drive-Thru Ashes.
This event will take place in the church’s parking lot on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 6:30am-9am.

As we prepare the way, we can also help to lengthen the light and welcome God's spring.

This year we invite you to a Lenten experience full of flowers! Using a set of Floriography cards from the Salt Project, you can explore the season of Lent on your own or with a partner via the Lenten Listeners program (registration below). Because Floriography is the secret language of flowers, each card will provide an opportunity to read, reflect, and pray inspired by a flower. Some cards even include activities to try!

Our Lenten Devotional from the Salt Project titled, The Poetry of Lent: A Lenten Companion to Mary Oliver's Devotions, will use the words of scripture and her poetry to be our guides. Each week, scripture and poetry will point us towards simple, powerful practices you can try yourself, with your family, friends, or our congregation.
