Reading:
- Read “The Letter” by Rachel Held Evans
- Chapter 7, of the book “Inspired.” (This chapter has been sent to Bible Study participants. Contact the church office for a copy of this book).
Things to Consider:
- This work of fiction is written through the eyes of someone who was part of Nympha’s community of Christians and explores what they may have been thinking as they heard Nympha read Paul’s letter to the Colossians aloud.
- These letters to early Christian communities were written to be read aloud!
- Pay attention to the reaction that Rachel imagines during the reading of each particular line.
