Rev. Sam Lovett began as senior minister at Newman Church in March 2025. He is a graduate of East Providence High School, Boston College (BA), and Boston University (MDiv). He was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2021.
Sam previously worked as a school chaplain at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He currently serves as a chaplain to the East Providence Fire Department and Winslow Gardens Assisted Living Community. Sam also serves on the boards of the Good Neighbors Community Kitchen and Food Pantry, and the Rhode Island Association of the United Church of Christ.
Sam has previously worked as a copyeditor for Pilgrim Press, and is the author of books Olim Quarters and American Squirrel.
