The Garden Team began practicing three-sisters planting in 2024 in a garden they began at the front of the church: beans, corn, and squash grow together, each one helping the others. Beans grow up the corn stalk while the corn gains nutrients from the beans; the squash covers the ground, keeping the soil active for the corn and beans. This method of planting is part of ongoing Indigenous life and practice in Rhode Island.
