Hello friends,
Rain returned to the region today.
It rained hard, like the world was making up for hazy days. Backpacks and yellow school busses reappeared after summer hibernations; nights are chilly again.
Corn was harvested at the church this week; the work of our pollinator friends is bearing fruit. And every day a half-dozen people come to the church parking lot to donate bags of used clothing, shoes, blankets, and stuffed animals.
The Good Neighbors Food Pantry at the church continues to be a bi-weekly hive of provision and care. And last Sunday the church responded to an invitation from our Missions Committee and raised several hundred dollars in response to the acute need of one of our long-time partners in Haiti.
Thank God for the rolling thunder. Thank God for students and teachers. Thank God for the season of the harvest. Thank God for discipleship. Thank God for our friends in the Spirit.
May all these signs of the season be blessed.

And then we “begin again” in September with the launch of a new season of worship and discipleship. Thank God for new beginnings.
