A Bible Study About Becoming Christians: Reading Paul & Rachel Held Evans

In mid-March, the Friday morning Faith-Based discussion considered a few different options for what to read and discuss next!

With the goal of reading scripture and seeking guidance and inspiration for living in tumultuous and polarizing times, we settled on the idea of reading a collection of Paul’s New Testament letters (epistles) alongside writing by Rachel Held Evans, a public theologian and author sometimes called “the voice of wandering evangelicals.”

Paul was writing to early communities who were determining what it meant for them to be followers of Christ. Paul wrote with the goal of keeping these early communities together despite their internal conflicts and uncertainties.

What can we learn from Paul’s letters today?
